Join Landis & Gyr Fellows Zsolt Láng and Gianni Skaragas for a literary conversation and brief readings, moderated by Ilma Rakusa in English and German, at the Burgbachkeller Theatre in Zug.
The actress Miriam Japp will read excerpts from our work.
The reading will take place on May 30, followed by a debate led by members of the audience. It's a free, no-ticket event, open to all, starting at 8 p.m. We will discuss a range of issues connected with storytelling and craft, social and political aims in literature as well as our new work in the context of our writing projetcs in Zug. I will speak of my post-crisis English short fiction with a focus on two new short stories, “The History of Grains” and “How to Draw Human Figures” (forthcoming in World Literature Today [University of Oklahoma], and Copper Nickel [University of Colorado]).
The Schreiben in Zug event is hosted by Landis & Gyr Stiftung, an acclaimed not-for-profit organization dedicated to writers and artists in Switzerland. The venue is located in the heart of the Old Town (a 10-minute walk from the main-line Bahnhof station).

Ich möchte Sie herzlich zu einer besonderen Lesung einladen. Es wird die Möglichkeit bestehen, mit mir und Zsolt Láng über die Literatur, die die Komplexität der Welt einfängt, zu sprechen. Die in Zürich lebende Schriftstellerin und Übersetzerin Ilma Rakusa moderiert die Gespräch, und die Schauspielerin Miriam Japp liest aus unserem Werk. Die Lesung findet am Dienstag, dem 30.
